This summary is here to help. The full rules below are what apply.

1. The competition and who runs it

1.1 The HabitRush Winter Arc Competition (the "Competition") is run by Habitrush Ltd (the "Promoter"), which operates HabitRush at habitrush.com.

1.2 The Competition is a game of skill. The winner is decided by the points an entrant earns through their own effort and by judges scoring finalists against published criteria. No part of the result is decided by chance, draw or lottery.

1.3 By entering, you agree to these Official Rules and to the Promoter's decisions, which are final on all matters relating to the Competition.

1.4 The Competition is not sponsored, endorsed or run by, or connected with, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X, Reddit, Apple, Google or any other platform.

2. Who can enter

2.1 To enter, you must, at the time you enter and until the winner is announced:

  1. be 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher;
  2. hold HabitRush lifetime access bought at habitrush.com and not refunded or charged back;
  3. live in a country or region not excluded in section 3; and
  4. not be the Promoter, or an employee, contractor or judge of the Promoter, or a member of their immediate family or household.

2.2 One entry per person. Entering with more than one account, or entering for someone else, disqualifies every entry involved.

2.3 Where you live is your country of permanent residence, shown on a valid government photo ID at winner verification (section 9).

3. Excluded countries and regions

3.1 The Competition is not open to residents of the places below. People there can still buy and use HabitRush; they cannot enter the Competition.

  • Cuba, Iran, North Korea and Syria
  • The Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine
  • Any other country or region where the Competition is prohibited or restricted by law

3.2 It is your responsibility to check that taking part is legal where you live. If it is not, you may not enter.

3.3 The Promoter may add a place to this list before entries open if the law requires it. Anyone who enters from an excluded place is disqualified, even if they reach the final.

4. How to enter

4.1 Entries open at 00:00 UTC on 15 October 2026 and close at 23:59 UTC on 31 December 2026, or earlier once 1,000 entries have been accepted (the "Entry Period").

4.2 To enter, sign in to HabitRush during the Entry Period, open Winter Arc, and:

  1. choose three of your habits as your Arc Habits;
  2. choose a nickname for the leaderboard;
  3. confirm your country of residence and your time zone; and
  4. confirm you are eligible and accept these Official Rules.

4.3 HabitRush lifetime access costs US$24. Entry is included with it and has no extra fee.

4.4 Entries are accepted in the order received, up to 1,000. The Promoter may reserve some of these places, for example for partner or giveaway entries; reserved places are not open to the public and are shown as taken. The live count on habitrush.com is the official record. Once the limit is reached, no further entries are accepted.

4.5 Your Arc Habits, country and time zone are locked once you enter and cannot be changed during your arc.

5. Your 90-day arc and how points work

5.1 Your arc is 90 consecutive days. Day 1 is the calendar day after you enter, in the time zone you confirmed. Each day runs from 00:00 to 23:59 in that time zone.

5.2 You earn 1 point for each arc day on which you mark all three Arc Habits complete in HabitRush. The most you can earn is 90 points.

5.3 You can mark a day complete on that day or on the following day only. After that, the day is closed and cannot be changed.

5.4 A day on which any Arc Habit is not marked complete earns no point. Travel mode, sick mode and any other pause in HabitRush do not pause or extend your arc.

5.5 Weekly proof photo. Each week runs Monday to Sunday in your time zone and has a code word, shown in HabitRush. For every week that includes at least one of your arc days, you must upload one photo that shows:

  1. that week's code word, handwritten on paper; and
  2. something connected to one of your Arc Habits.

The photo is due by 23:59 on the Sunday of that week. Points for a week count only if that week's photo was uploaded on time.

5.6 Your Final Score is the total of your counted points when your arc ends.

6. The leaderboard

6.1 The leaderboard ranks entrants by the share of points earned out of the points possible so far, then by total points. This lets entrants who started on different days compare fairly.

6.2 It shows your nickname, your arc day and your points only. Your name, email, country and photos are never shown.

6.3 The leaderboard is for motivation. It does not decide finalists or the winner; sections 7 and 8 do.

7. Finalists and judging

7.1 Once every arc has ended, finalists are chosen by Final Score:

  1. every entrant with the highest Final Score is a finalist; and
  2. if fewer than 20 entrants share the highest Final Score, the entrants with the 20 highest Final Scores are finalists, including everyone tied at 20th place.

7.2 Finalists are told by email by 2 April 2027. To stay in, a finalist must submit their Winter Arc Story in HabitRush by 23:59 UTC on 7 April 2027. The Story is up to 500 words in English about their 90 days. It must be their own original work, and a finalist may add up to three extra photos.

7.3 A panel of at least three judges appointed by the Promoter scores each finalist out of 100, using the finalist's weekly proof photos and Story:

CriterionWhat judges look forPoints
ProofWeekly photos that are clear, genuine, on time and consistent with the Arc Habits40
Real changeVisible, meaningful progress from the start to the end of the 90 days40
StoryAn honest, clear account of the arc and what the finalist learned20
Total100

7.4 Each finalist's score is the average of the judges' scores. The finalist with the highest score wins.

7.5 If two or more finalists tie, the higher Real change score wins. If they are still tied, the higher Proof score wins. If they are still tied, the judges score the tied Stories again, on Story alone, until one finalist is ahead. No tie is ever broken by chance.

8. Key dates

All deadlines are fixed when entries open and do not change, however quickly the 1,000 entries are taken.

9. The prize, winner verification and payment

9.1 There is one prize: US$5,000, paid to one winner. It is awarded however many people enter, as long as at least one eligible finalist completes the Competition.

9.2 Before payment, the winner must, within 7 days of being contacted:

  1. join a short video call with the Promoter's representative and show a valid government photo ID;
  2. show that the name on the ID matches their HabitRush account, and that the country on it is eligible under section 3; and
  3. sign a declaration that they are eligible and have followed these rules.

9.3 If the winner does not complete verification on time, fails it, or is found ineligible, they forfeit the prize. The finalist with the next-highest judged score is then offered it on the same terms.

9.4 The prize is paid by international bank transfer to an account in the winner's own name, within 14 days of verification. The Promoter pays its own sending fees. Fees charged by the winner's bank, and any currency conversion, are the winner's.

9.5 The prize cannot be transferred or exchanged. The winner is responsible for any taxes on it where they live.

9.6 The Promoter announces the winner on habitrush.com on 15 April 2027 by nickname and country. With the winner's permission, it also publishes their Story and proof of the payment, with personal and bank details removed.

10. Disqualification, refunds and fair play

10.1 The Promoter will disqualify any entrant who:

  1. marks habits complete that they did not do;
  2. uploads a proof photo that is edited, reused, copied, AI-generated or taken outside its week;
  3. enters more than once, or uses or shares another person's account;
  4. lives in an excluded place or gives false details about their age, country or identity;
  5. tampers with HabitRush, its data or the leaderboard, or tries to; or
  6. harasses other entrants, the judges or the Promoter.

10.2 HabitRush's money-back guarantee is unaffected by the Competition. Taking a refund, or charging back your payment, before the winner is announced ends your entry.

10.3 The Promoter may review any entrant's check-in history and photos at any time to confirm the rules are followed.

11. Privacy, publicity, general terms and contact

11.1 The Promoter uses entrants' details only to run the Competition, under the HabitRush Privacy Policy. Proof photos and Stories are seen only by the entrant, the Promoter and, for finalists, the judges. They are not published without the entrant's permission.

11.2 If the Competition cannot run as planned because of fraud, a technical failure or another cause outside the Promoter's control, the Promoter may change or suspend it to keep it fair. It will publish any change on habitrush.com. The prize remains US$5,000, and the winner is still chosen under section 7.

11.3 To the extent the law allows, the Promoter is not responsible for lost, late or incomplete check-ins or uploads caused by devices, networks or third-party services.
